Gatewood Booster Club Update – Week Of January 9th – January 15th
The Booster Club updates will serve as a recap of the week’s sporting events at Gatewood.
They will go out on Mondays with the exception of holidays. They will also list the upcoming games for the week.

Varsity Girls Basketball – The Lady Gators traveled to Perry last week and beat Westfield by 10. On Friday they traveled to Augusta and beat Westminster 32-28. It was 2 great road wins last week. They play TONIGHT at HOME, tip off at 6:00pm.
Varsity Boys Basketball – The varsity boys went 1-1 this past week. They went to westfield and walked away with a win. On Friday they traveled to Westminister in Augusta and ended up on the wrong end of the score. They play TONIGHT at HOME, tip off at 7:30pm.
Varsity Wrestling – The wrestling team finished 8th in the Trinity Invitational Tournament. The tournament was attended by both GISA and GHSA schools. Weston Wallace finished 3rd at 285 pounds. Jackson Embry (132 pounds) and Walker Whiddon (195 pounds) both finished 4th.

Varsity Soccer – Practice begins January 30th.
JV Girls Basketball – Play Friday at Home at 4:30pm.
JV Boys Basketball – The Jv also went 1-1. They lost to Westfield on a shot at the buzzer and beat Westminister hitting a shot at the buzzer.
Middle School Girls Basketball – 1/4 – Team A beat Brentwood 25-16 and Team B beat Brentwood 23-20. 1/5 – Team A lost to Westfield 19-25 and Team B lost to Westfield 22-17. 1/11 – lost to FPD 20-37. 1/12 – Team A lost to Westfield 16-39 and Team B lost to Westfield 16-19.
Middle School Boys Basketball – The ms teams played FPD and Westfield last week. The 7th/8th/6th lost to FPD on Wed. The 6th/7th boys beat Westfield and the “A” team also defeated Westfield.

Swimming – The swim team competed at Georgia Tech at the Atlanta Girls’ School Invitational this past weekend against 28 other schools. Our varsity boys team placed 5th overall. Top 10 Individual results are as follows:
Caitlin Murphy, 5th 100 back
Matthew Dent, , 9th in both 50 free and 100 free
William Hardin, 5th 100 back
Jake Holloway, 2nd in both 100 free and 200 free and 3rd in 100 back
Varsity medley relay team – Matthew Dent, Jacob Hankinson, William Hardin, and Jake Holloway – placed 4th.
Next meet is Friday, Jan 20th at the Morgan County Aquatic Center. State Meet is Saturday, Jan 28th at Georgia Tech.
Please Note: All Coaches have been asked to provide updates and information regarding all Gatewood sports. If you do not see information pertaining to a certain sport then their season is either over or information was not provided by the Coach.

Booster Club Passes – You MUST present your Booster Club Pass when entering ALL regular season (Home) athletic events in order to receive free admission. Only Gold Members receive free admittance.
