Dear Parents,

We have been looking at the forecast since early yesterday trying to get an accurate read on the timing of the storm for our region. This morning it appears that the wind and rain will begin tonight with heaving rain and high winds persisting into Thursday morning. We are well within the “tropical storm warning” zone for tonight and tomorrow. Our biggest concern is for our high school kids who drive and carpool to school each day. With winds forecasted to be in the 40 mph range and probable heavy rain, it is simply not worth the risk; therefore, we are canceling school for Thursday. It is very important that we make sure our students and staff are safe during this time as storms like these can cause multiple problems and accidents that can have a knock-on effect in other areas. Our city and communities need to be prepared for whatever happens, so we have to take initiative as well as speak to professionals similar to stormwater prevention plan companies in houston tx to see what can be adapted and changed for better storm management.

• Please note the following:
* All homecoming activities are canceled for tonight and Thursday.
*The middle school football game has been moved to Monday, October 15.
*All after-school activities and practices are canceled for Thursday.
*Pizza Friday will not be served; orders will be carried over to November 2.
* We anticipate having school on Friday pending storm damage and power outages.
* Varsity football practice has been moved up to 2 pm today.
Thank you and please be safe!
