A word from the Alumni President......

             Gatewood Schools was established in 1970 by very committed, hard working parents and friends to not only provide a good quality educational opportunity for the students but also to provide an environment that fostered personal growth, love, and a sense of belonging through athletic and literary events.  Since it’s beginning, Gatewood’s student body has grown year by year.  The original vision of the founders continues to be nourished by the support of parents, friends, and alumni of Gatewood.  The Gatewood Alumni Association strives to support Gatewood Schools by giving students the opportunity to achieve their fullest potential in a safe yet challenging environment through monetary and article donations.  

            Each year the Alumni Association hosts one major fund raising event.  This event has been very successful and continues to grow each year thanks to your support.  Its success and growth has allowed us to help the school with the purchase of items that were not affordable through tuition alone. Throughout the years, the Alumni Association has given well over $700,000 to Gatewood Schools.  We continue to fulfill our annual commitment of $15,000 to the school’s general budget and have added another scholarship opportunity for our graduating seniors.  We have been able to increase our existing scholarship from $500 to $1000 and have added an additional $1000 scholarship.  Additionally, we have also been able to purchase 1 new bus and 2 new fifteen-passenger coaches for the school.  Again, our success comes from a hard working Alumni Association and great supporters like you.  I can’t thank you enough for your commitment to helping us make a great school greater while continuing to foster the safe comfortable learning and playing environment that makes Gatewood such a wonderful place to be.  More information about our next auction will be coming to you in the near future.  If you have never had the opportunity to be a part of our wonderful event, we invite you to come and join the fun at our annual Alumni Auction!

            We just completed installing the second portion of the engraved brick walk-way.  This last section started in front of the home side stands at Sammons Field. In the future we hope to continue it the length of the stands.
