Re-enrollment

January 24, 2023

Dear Parents,

The Gatewood Board of Directors voted in December on the 2023-2024 tuition rates.  The increase will be $240 annually across the board ($20 per month). The increase goes into effect February 1st for “Plan A” tuition families and June 1st for “Plan B” families.  Again, we will implement the “automatic re-enrollment” process for 2023-2024.  If for any reason you decide not to re-enroll, then please contact Libby Rainey in writing by February 1, 2023.([email protected]).

Enrollment has held steady after experiencing several years of significant increases.  We already have families applying for the 2023-2024 school year and again anticipate waiting lists for multiple grade levels.  Therefore, it is imperative that we know if you do not plan to return to Gatewood as all enrollment contracts are financially binding after the February 1st deadline.

Breach of contract: the Gatewood Board of Directors passed a “breach of contract” policy in 2022 requiring a $2500 fee for failure to honor the contractual/financial obligations of the enrollment contract.

On behalf of the Board of Directors, I want to thank you for the confidence and support you have demonstrated toward Gatewood Schools, Inc. over the past year.  Please see attached documents.

Thank you,

Jeff Decker

Headmaster

Dear Gatewood Families:

On behalf of Gatewood’s Board of Directors, I want to thank you for the confidence and support you have demonstrated toward Gatewood Schools, Inc. over the past year. Working together, we continue to make improvements which support and enhance the overall educational experience for all students. Many of you have been instrumental in helping to make those improvements and I want you to know how much I appreciate your loyalty to Gatewood. Additionally, our Board of Directors continues to support our school by recognizing the school’s needs and addressing them accordingly.

In December, after a thorough analysis of Gatewood’s finances, the Board of Directors adopted tuition rates for the 2020-2021 school year. The Board also approved changing the re-enrollment process to automatic re-enrollment. This will simplify the process and eliminate the need for parents/guardians to go into Renweb to re-enroll students. If for any reason, parents decide not to re-enroll, then we must have that in writing by February 10.

Please see 2020-2021 tuition rates in the attached fee schedule. Also, please read the re-enrollment contract carefully and in its entirety.

Warmest Regards,

Jeff Decker

Financial Aid
Applications for financial aid will be through the FACTS Management Company. This process is conducted online and can be accessed through your RenWeb account. The financial aid committee will meet in April to consider financial aid requests for re-enrolling families and again prior to the start of the next school to consider aid requests from new families who will join us in the fall. We ask that you file your request early and provide all requested information so that we can effectively assess need and award appropriate amounts from available funds. Should you have any questions, please contact Libby Rainey in the Admissions Office for assistance.
Annual Fund
The Annual Fund is crucial for our yearly operating revenue. By definition, it is the amount donated that Gatewood expects and budgets for each year to meet our costs. This year’s budget includes $175,000 from the Annual Fund to meet operational expenses. For the 2020-2021 school year, please make a commitment to the Annual Fund.
Gatewood Service Hours
Gatewood has benefited greatly from parents who donate their time to the school in various capacities. This is not only a key component of the school’s smooth operation but an important way to promote unity within the Gatewood community. The school will continue to require a minimum of 8 service hours per family. These hours may be served in any capacity that benefits the school ranging from concession duties to decorating our campus for holidays.
Georgia GOAL Scholarships (Georgia Tax Credit Scholarship Program)
Scholarships at Gatewood help ALL Gatewood families. Less than 20% of Gatewood students receive scholarship assistance and the average scholarship is less than 25% of their total tuition. The scholarships are awarded to academically qualified students based on need and a desire to receive a quality education that they could not otherwise afford; there are NO athletic scholarships provided through Gatewood’s scholarship program. If these students did not attend Gatewood, the board would need to increase YOUR tuition by 23% (instead of this year’s average tuition increase of 3%) in order to maintain the same quality of education that we are currently providing. Please support these scholarship programs that do help all Gatewood families by DIVERTING some of your Georgia Income taxes to Gatewood’s scholarship program through the GOAL Scholarship program. Please contact Libby Rainey, Director of Admissions, at 706-485-8231 ext. 1300 for additional information.
Sincerely, Chris Huskins

The early acceptance rate into UGA among other universities is exceptional and  89% of the senior class is already HOPE eligible. Gatewood also provides a wide range of extracurricular activities ranging from a robust athletic program to the arts. In keeping with our mission, we educate our students in a nurturing, Christian environment, instilling our core values and equipping our children with the skills needed for collegiate and lifelong success.
