Re-enrollment

December 5, 2016

As we enter our 47th enrollment season, we thank you for the confidence and support you have demonstrated toward Gatewood Schools, Inc. We have continued to make discernible improvements in our course offerings at all levels and will continue to do so in support of our children. “Number talk” daily routines providing students with meaningful computation practice, expanded balanced literacy instruction, increased art and foreign language in pre/lower school are just a few of the improvements made to curriculum offerings thus far this school year. In middle and high schools students enjoy expanded elective offerings, on-campus college entrance testing, and increased real-world experiences and workshops are a few innovations available for the first time this year. In extracurricular activities our students compete in the largest classification against schools superior in size, yet we are competitive, winning state championships in multiple sports and reaching the finals in others. Our acceptance rates at major colleges and universities continue to be impressive as are the scholarships, grants and aid offered to graduates. We continue to have most of our seniors accepted into a college or university of their choice early each year. True to our mission, we educate our students in a nurturing, Christian environment, instilling our core values and equipping them for collegiate and lifelong success.

Tuition and Fees

On December 1, 2016, after a lengthy and thorough analysis of Gatewood’s finances, the Board of Directors adopted tuition rates for the 2017-18 school year. Rates were based upon anticipated reenrollment, anticipated new enrollment numbers and operational requirements.

The changes adopted by the Board include the following:

  •  A $10/month per child increase in preschool grades
  •  A $10/month per child increase in grades K – 5
  •  A $20/month per child increase in grades 6-8
  •  A $30/month per child increase in grades 9-12

The following discounts continue for 2017-2018:

  •  A 5% discount for families with 2 children
  •  A 10% discount for families with 3 children
  •  A 15% discount for families with 4 children
  •  A 20% discount for families with 5 children
  •  An additional 2.5% discount for those who choose to pay their tuition in full (Plan C) Financial Aid Applications for financial aid will be through the FACTS Management Company.

This process is conducted online and can be accessed through your RenWeb account. We will meet in April to consider financial aid requests for reenrolling families and again prior to the start of the next school to consider aid requests from new families who will join us in the fall. We ask that you file your request early and provide all requested information so that we can effectively assess need and award appropriate amounts from available funds. Should you have any questions, please contact Libby Rainey in the Admissions Office for assistance.

Georgia GOAL Scholarships

Scholarships at Gatewood help ALL Gatewood families. Less than 20% of Gatewood students receive scholarship assistance and the average scholarship is less than 25% of their total tuition. The scholarships are awarded to academically qualified students based on need and a desire to receive a quality education that they could not otherwise afford; there are NO athletic scholarships provided through Gatewood’s scholarship program. If these students did not attend Gatewood, the board would need to increase YOUR tuition by 23% (instead of this year’s average tuition increase of 3%) in order to maintain the same quality of education that we are currently providing. Please support these scholarship programs that do help all Gatewood families by DIVERTING some of your Georgia Income taxes to Gatewood’s scholarship program through the GOAL Scholarship program. You must sign up before the end of the year in order to participate in the program for next year.

Re-Enrollment

Re-enrollment contracts will be available for submission online through RenWeb not later than December 9, 2017 and must be electronically signed by January 20th. Submissions received after that date must be accompanied with a mandatory $250 late fee per student. If you plan to apply for financial assistance, please ensure the “financial aid contingency” box is checked. Should you have any questions regarding tuition, fees, or financial aid information, please contact Libby Rainey, Director of Admissions, at 706.485.8231, ext 1300. We extend our sincerest thanks for your confidence in Gatewood Schools, Inc. We pledge our commitment to serve you and your children to the very best of our ability.

Sincerely,
Chris Huskins Chairman,
The Gatewood Board of Directors
