We build Christ-centered leaders for the next generation in Georgia.
These Kingdom leaders pour themselves into kids, transforming them to serve the Church, education, business, healthcare, politics — every sector of society. We believe the hope for Georgia is change from the inside out, a change that will be ushered in by these Jesus-centered leaders.
Dear High School Parents,
I hope the fall semester is off to a great start for you and your families! Some of you may be familiar with Young Life, who we are, and what we do, but for those that are not, we want to introduce ourselves! What is Young Life? We are a non-profit organization for high school and middle school students with a mission to introduce adolescents to Jesus and help them grow in their faith. We do this by praying for kids, going where they are and through building personal relationships with them, providing fun, adventurous, life-changing experiences, and by working in the community alongside like-minded adults (volunteer leaders, committee members, local churches, donors, and staff).
At Gatewood, our high school team is led by 11 incredible volunteer leaders from Georgia College. These leaders have been trained extensively and background checked by Young Life, and are excited to continue getting to know your kids! You’ll see them around at the school for breakfast and lunch, at sporting events, plays, and everything in between.
Every other week, the leaders will put on “Young Life Club” for Gatewood students. We like to think of Club as a “party with a purpose.” It’s a controlled chaos that’s almost impossible to describe, but kids know it when they see it. Before the party ends, we share a simple message about God’s love for them. After all, that’s what the celebration is all about. Club is on Monday nights at 7:07 location will be determined weekly, every high schooler at Gatewood is invited!
On the Mondays in between Club weeks, we will have “Campaigners.” Campaigners is a weekly gathering for kids who wish to learn more or grow in their faith through study, service, and leadership. Follow @gatewoodyl on Instagram for the most current updates about what we are up to each week.
We are grateful to you for trusting us with your kids! It is our joy to get to know them, walk with them, and share our lives with them. If you have any questions or would like any more information about Young Life, please do not hesitate to reach out.
